Along with some other parts of the world, Kuala Lumpur is a place where you can find a certain dished called Chicken Maryland. It is boneless chicken cooked in a certain specific way, found in places that serve chicken dishes like chicken chop, etc. However, the method of preparing it differs from country to country. If you live in KL, you might have heard of it, seen it, or tried it yourself.
But the question is: did it originally come from Maryland, USA?
I, a student of a university in Maryland, have found the truth. You would not be able to find it down the street or at any various eateries. Ask a random person in town, you will get a raised eyebrow. Find a knowing butcher or chef, he will ask you for the recipe out of curiousity. Google it, you realize that us Southern Asians have actually heard of it and that it is served in some parts of Europe, and it came from a French cookbook.
So please don’t come all the way here to find Chicken Maryland. The Hundred Years’ War did not last one hundred years.

I have made my grand entry into the United States, its almost been a week and life (or rather problems) have just begun. I don’t want to be too detailed here so I’ll just say what I feel like saying.
First off, my flight was incredibly boring, aside from the fact that I watched The Departed, which was a great movie. My lips have been cracking from then til now. Its so dry here, and I have to drink water from the tap or buy expensive bottled water. Its pretty weird having to drink off the toilet tap, but I have no choice.
My room is really small. Its small enough without my roommate who hasn’t arrived yet. Its so not fair, I pay the same amount as the others do and I HAPPEN to get the darn corner room. It’s currently a bit messy so I’ll take a picture of it later. For now, I have these for you to enjoy.

This is from the inside of Incheon Airport, Seoul. The airport is pretty nice, well designed and laid out. I couldn’t buy anything there though, everything was in Korean Won. So I had to rely on the water fountains and in-flight meals.

I took this when I arrived at a hotel after reaching Baltimore. The cold air I felt upon first stepping out of the airport was exhilirating. I haven’t got tired of it yet. I love the cold. But I can’t take cold showers, ironic.
I have more photos but I didn’t bother uploading them, they were’t worthy. Well, thats all I would say for now. Oh, and its mildly snowing here. Loving it.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, dudes and dudettes, I have less than 24 hours left before my flight to the States. I have said my goodbyes, given away my old stuff, received a million cards, taken a billion photos, and packed (almost) all my stuff. The night of the 19th of January 2007, after some final words and goodbyes, my life will change.
I will step into the plane, looking ahead. I have no plans to return for holidays as that idea reflects negatively on my save-money plan. And even after I return to KL after graduation, things will be different. People change, kids grow up, students go overseas, graduates start working, things like that. And if you’re wondering: Yes, I will come back after I graduate. Why? I explained it all here.
But I have so much to look forward to! I wouldn’t want to list them all here. I’ll leave it to your imagination. One things for sure, I will work on my projects. Then, I shall have something to show for in my portfolio. And until then, I will not redesign this blog yet. There’s nothing worthy in my current portfolio. That answers the issues I raised in my previous post.
Well, thats that. I shall still blog about my life and stuff. But nothing that is solely written for the purpose of attracting traffic. Creating a money-generating website shall be another project altogether. I can say no more about the things I create in the future; I have no guarantee that I will have the time.
I shall post again as soon as I get my Macbook and access the internet in Towson, Maryland, USA.

Just when I was about to uncover a new niche and line of content for this blog, I am having second thoughts. I figured that it was not really appropriate; I even concluded that it will be difficult making decent money out of this blog after all.
Also, I will leave to study in the US so I might not have time at all. (You can refer to my countdown clock on my sidebar, if its still there)
Hence, my final decision is this: I shall turn this blog into a portfolio. I will exhibit all creative works I produce, and I will stop writing niche-based posts here. However, I will not erase my old posts for I might want to use them as reference. Also, I will not call this blog “Life is Just” anymore; I shall use that self-thought adage somewhere else.
This turn of events call for a redesign. I will draw inspiration from professional-looking blogs like OrderedList.com. If you find any more, please let me know. I’d like to see them, thanks.
As for real blogging, I will still help develop the expanding XBlogger.net blog network and maybe try blogging for money in b5media or something.
By the way, I have never unveiled exactly what this new niche was supposed to be. Now that I am announcing change, I shall reveal it. I was planning to write posts on University life. I have already written two posts that are related.
Well, it can be hard but sometimes things must change, for the better.
