Wrapping up 2006 at Life is Just

December 30th, 2006. Filed under: Blog

First off, I haven’t been posting much for the past week. This is NOT due to the recent earthquake and the World Wide Wait. I can still surf fine, though my downloads are in complete halt. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. Still, what a way to end the year.

It has been a whole year and Life is Just has transformed so much. I could never be happy with one layout, because somehow there is always a better one. But one things for sure: I’m sticking to K2, because only through that I can create my own layouts easily. Let’s hope the current one lasts longer.

Remember that time I mentioned that this blog will have a new line of content? Well, I could reveal it now but I decided to let everyone wait instead. So come see for yourselves, Jan 2007.

Speaking of Jan 2007, I would like to officially announce in this blog that I will be leaving for the States on the 20th of January. Where? Towson, Maryland; East coast, between Washington DC and New York City. What? I will be studying in Towson University, opting for a major in advertising and minor in film. How long? At least two and an half years. Anything else? Ask me personally.

I know its late but here’s my Christmas wish list! (See 2005’s list here)

1. The Macbook

Its white, its bright, its the brand new Macbook! Nothing like a mac to make your life richer and funkier! The highlights that attracts me most: it comes with iMovie and Garageband, the super speed, and the inbuilt camera! You worry about compatibility? Thanks to open source programs, I have no worries at all. See full specs here.

2. An alarm clock

I kinda need one… I’m having trouble waking up early these days. And things would be worse once I’m alone in the states.

3. The Nokia N93

An all-in-one phone that can take pictures, capture video and play music. What more can you ask for? Enough said.

Well, I do want a couple of books but I’m too lazy to mention them. Bah, Happy New Year!

There is no such thing as XMas

December 23rd, 2006. Filed under: Blog

No, there really isn’t. Whenever you hear about XMas, just remember that it does not exist. Christmas, however, is coming soon.

The word ‘XMas’ is merely an incorrect short form of ‘Christmas’ that has been popularized through commercial use. Truth be told, whenever you use that short form, its like you replace Christ with something else.

Christ is a real person, the son of man and the son of God. How would you like it if someone called you ‘X’? Now, I wish not for any religious fanatics attacking me; but Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas and it should be the only reason it is celebrated.

Merry Christmas.

Monroe and Mao books for auction

December 22nd, 2006. Filed under: Blog

I’ve put up two books for auction and lelong.com.my.

Monroe – Quote Unquote

A book of quotations by the immortal sex symbol herself. Original, decent condition.
Buy it from me here.

Mao Tse Tung book of Quotations

I’m not a communist or anything, I got this only because I was in China for vacation. You dont have to be a anti-capitalism dude to get this. Only for novelty’s sake I guess.
Buy it from me here.

Hurry before the deadline comes! However, I will relist the items if nobody bids.

The fight for net neutrality

December 17th, 2006. Filed under: Technology

Apparently, there is a possible threat that the internet might be under a law which requires the service providers to CHOOSE which websites for you to access and nothing else, based on who pays them (or something like that. Learn it here.) Well, this issue applies to the United States so far. But who knows? Anything can happen.

I have found two noble websites that fights for net neutrality, an effort to keep the internet free to use for everybody with access. That’s the way it is now and look how fast we are progressing. Check out SaveTheInternetand WeAreTheWeb. Should this issue increase in severity, it just might affect the other parts of the world so I wish to let the Malaysians know about this.

I hope the Malaysian government don’t get any ‘ideas’. What do you think?
