My spring holidays summed up

May 31st, 2006. Filed under: Blog

Hello all, forgive me for my detachment from this blog. Ever since my holidays started I’ve been so out of blogging, quite the opposite to my masterplans. The first two weeks was just hours and hours of Kingdom Hearts 2, which I have been dying to play since 2004. I liked that game but the 100% completion I was aiming for was pretty tedious.

Well basically I wasted my holidays when minimal productive activity. I wanted to work on my music but I have a crappy mic to begin with. I did however work on my latest instrumental but I didn’t come around to finish it. And I picked up the violin that was collecting dust in my room, just once. Yes, I am attempting to teach myself the violin with the help of the internet. Damn I’m jobless.

Towards the end I found a job as a secretariat at a international conference held right here at KL. I have to wake up at seven and commute by LRT to Nikko Hotel for five days. I had a good time though it was a little boring in between. I got to see a glimpse of the Prime Minister himself who turned up for the launching. Let me just say that he can walk damn fast.

College? I had painfully average grades this time around. Dangit, the lecturers are being assholes again. Now I have to take a subject I don’t really need to pull my grade point average back up. I can’t take a single mass communications subject that I require to transfer to New Zealand cos they’re not offering it this semester at all. The subjects that I have no choice but to take are pretty boring this time around. Also, some of my friends left HELP UC while I’m still stuck here squirming my way through.

Life is gonna suck.

My first medal ever in my miserable life

May 23rd, 2006. Filed under: Pictures

Last saturday, I bagged myself a medal. Well, in a team game actually so I didn’t do all the work by myself. With Chun Keng and Choi Wan, I went for my first scrabble (fine, call me a nerd) competition ever. It was at the Sports Festival at YMCA. We got ourselves to the finals without even losing once, all three of us. Then we had to face St. Francis Xavier Church (who came in uniform shirts) and lost 2-1. I got lucky to have faced an easier opponent (says Chun Keng) so I can’t really boast about snagging the only win in the finals.

Ah, who cares. I still got a medal! I never win anything before! Except for a rectangular glass cup from a drama competition which my mum turned into a vase and cheap-ass trophy for getting six miserable As for SPM. Anyway, here it is.

Medal

Yeah, it’s silver. Sigh. I’ll get my gold next year. Next year I say!!

Remove your Blogger navbar for good

May 15th, 2006. Filed under: Technology

Yes! You don’t need to have that obstructing navigation bar on top of your blog anymore! All you have to do is find the body tag and add style and /style. It will look like this:

The bots won’t be able to detect the tag and the navbar would not appear. You can now fully express your artistry in your layout. Code trick courtesy of Harindar.
