You may have heard the term from the newspapers or from a bookshelf, but it is globally gaining popularity by the day since 2005. For the uninitiated, a sudoku is a is a logic-based placement puzzle (as described in Wikipedia). Here is an example:

    Being a Troubaganger

February 11th, 2006. Filed under: Blog, In a day

Doppelganger: A ghostly double of a living person, especially one that haunts its fleshly counterpart.
    Troubadour: A strolling minstrel.

    Those were the real definitions of those words. But in the local independant music scene;

Doppelganger: Acoustic open mic event at La Bodega KL
Troubadours: A regular music event in KL featuring talented Malaysians who write and perform original material

    Then came… the merge

Troubaganger: An open mic event featuring established singer-songwriters

(I hope I got those facts right)

February 5: the first Troubaganger event of the year. I was totally there. I was totally performing. I was totally.. first.

They have never seen my face or heard of my name before and yet Azmyl Yunor, a well-known singer-songwriter in the region, had enough faith to put me up first in the line-up.

I guess his faith paid off.. :P I weaved two of my best acoustic songs: ‘Tomorrow’ and ‘Life is Real’. It seems that ‘Tomorrow’ has girl appeal, since it made En Li and Angie, who was supportive enough to be there for me, swoon. Thanks guys.

I wished I could have stayed longer to see the others, like the Sofa Sessions and Panda Head Curry. I gotta catch them next time around. But I did meet Tan Sei Hon, though. Bah, unless you’re down and under with the local indie music scene, these names probably mean nothing to you, not even Pete Teo or Shelley Leong, whom I respect a lot.

And I got to meet a fellow blogger who helped me a lot in my WordPress ventures: Edrei. He wrote his own account of the event at his blog and complained about my smiling, or rather the lack of it. Read the official report and some other guy’s report.

I shall quote the official report, concerning myself:

    …one thing’s for sure: he’ll be back.

Stupid mistake: forgetting your wordpress password

February 3rd, 2006. Filed under: Technology, Wordpress

Yes, I made that mistake. It was stupid. Period.

Logically, I would use the ‘send lost password’ function to retrieve the password from my mail but my darned server (that I did not pay sen for) was slow to comprehend such a command. So I resorted to going to the source: PHPMyAdmin.

Should this stupid mistake ever happen to any of you, which I doubt it wil, you can see the full detail instructions here.
