• Stupid mistake: forgetting your wordpress password

Yes, I made that mistake. It was stupid. Period.

Logically, I would use the ‘send lost password’ function to retrieve the password from my mail but my darned server (that I did not pay sen for) was slow to comprehend such a command. So I resorted to going to the source: PHPMyAdmin.

Should this stupid mistake ever happen to any of you, which I doubt it wil, you can see the full detail instructions here.

    2. Next time…remember what you typed in and not just rely on the saved passwords.

    3. Yeah, the thing is that my password was generated and I forgot to change it to my own. The autosaved password already did its work so I let it be, till I reformatted my computer and everything was gone. >.<

can be quite embarrassing to be emailling the webhost to ask for a new password.

    6. Why don’t you just have a few standardized passwords that you use for different accounts? Wouldn’t that be easier?

    7. Like I said earlier, I forgot to change the password from the one generated for me upon installation to my standardized one. Refer to comment #3

    9. Even so, don’t random generated passwords have a sort of reference e-mail to pass the word on the password back to you if you lose it?
